We spend months, sometimes years, working on new designs concepts in both the New York design studio and our metal workshops in Cranston, Rhode Island. Eventually these new designs will be ready to put into production, and all the details of the enameling and stone setting need to be taught to our colleagues in the upstate New York workshop. They do such a beautiful job of recreating all the nuances in each design. No two are exactly alike, and I think that is what makes each piece so special. I have always wanted to have workshops where our designs can be made one at a time every day. When I visit stores and meet collectors, they often tell me they can feel the hand of the artisans behind each Jay Strongwater design. These photographs show you the very talented hands of those ladies and gentlemen.
